Mother Nature can be cruel. Sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate when you’re moving; it can rain, it can snow or it could be a cloudless sky. But regardless of the conditions, here are a few tips on making your transition a little bit more bearable.Drive Slow: Whether you’re driving the moving truck or hired professional movers to do it for you, it’s important to drive slowly. Maintain an average speed at all times, as you might be unfamiliar with some roadways. It is better to arrive safe and sound then not to arrive at all.
Move Over Snow: If it happens to snow, keep a shovel easily accessible. It will come in handy when you need to clear the road.
Cover Up: Use a tarp or any plastic wrap to cover your furniture in case it rains. You don’t want your grandmother’s antique sofa to be soaked by the time it gets to your destination.
Not There, Please: Enforce that your furniture be placed inside the house and not on your lawn or pavement. If the floor is wet or muddy, set a mat or runner outside, the last thing you need is to be cleaning up dirty footprints.
Keep Drinks Flowing: On those rainy or snowy days try to have hot coffee or tea ready to serve to warm everyone up. If the sun is shinning, keep the cold drinks running freely. Happy helpers equal a happy move.
Although you can’t control the weather, you can make the best out of your moving experience.
